Capital Hôtel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Capital Hôtel, you immediately sense this is Brazzaville’s answer to luxury hospitality. The five-star property sits prominently on Avenue Général De Gaulle in the plateau ville district — honestly, you can’t miss it. There’s something reassuring about the way staff greet you here, like they actually want you to feel at home rather than just checking another guest off their list. The lobby has that polished elegance you’d expect from a top-tier hotel, but it doesn’t feel stuffy or intimidating.
Prime Location in the Heart of the City
What really struck me about this place is how perfectly positioned it is. Recent guests have rated the location 8.1 out of 10, and I can see why — you’re right in the administrative and business heart of Brazzaville. The plateau ville area puts you within walking distance of government buildings, major banks, and some decent restaurants. If you’re here on business, you’ll appreciate not having to navigate traffic for every meeting. Couples seem to particularly love this spot (the hotel gets high marks for romantic getaways), probably because you can easily stroll to the Congo River waterfront for sunset views.
Comfortable Accommodations
The rooms at Capital Hôtel strike that sweet spot between professional and welcoming. You know what I mean — they’re sophisticated enough for business travelers but comfortable enough that you actually want to spend time there. The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the air conditioning works reliably (which, trust me, matters in Brazzaville’s climate). What I appreciated most was the attention to details like proper lighting for reading and work, plus the rooms stay quiet despite being in such a central location.
Dining and Practical Perks
Breakfast here is actually worth waking up for — they offer continental and buffet options, plus breakfast to go if you’re rushing to an early meeting. The buffet has a good mix of international and local options, though I’d recommend trying some of the regional specialties if you’re new to Congolese cuisine. One thing that really sets this place apart is the free private parking. I mean, in a city center location like this, that’s genuinely valuable — you’re not circling blocks looking for a spot or worrying about your car overnight.
Why Guests Love It
With a 7.4 overall rating, Capital Hôtel delivers on the fundamentals while adding those little touches that make a difference. Business travelers appreciate the reliable service and central location, while couples find it romantic enough for special occasions. The staff genuinely seems to care about guest experience rather than just going through the motions. It’s not the flashiest hotel you’ll ever stay in, but it’s the kind of place where everything works as it should — and in a city like Brazzaville, that consistency and reliability matter more than you might think.

What could be improved: they were supposed to put me in a better room but they had a problem
breakfast starts late and is very poorNice and spacious, will recommend – Linda from United States – June 8, 2024 (8/10)
It was my second time in Brazzaville, but the first time I heard of this hotel. It was super clean, the staff kind and responsive, they have a generator which helped with the constant power cuts, the Wi-Fi solid for the most part. The room was nice and spacious. It was also less than 10-mins drive from my job and a running distance from Les Corniches. I especially liked all the different bed arrangements the cleaning staff did each day to my bed.
What could be improved: The location wasn’t optimal as far as restaurants went so I ate quite a bit at the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, all of the meats and fish options were fried (except for some local dishes). That got tiring very quick. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants within walking distance, so that’s the bad part.
The bed and pillows, as cute as the decorations by the maids were, were super uncomfortable. Super. Each day, there was a sewer odor coming from the bathroom. But really, the hotel was nice and clean, so these observations didn’t play a major role in my rating and satisfaction.Calme et reposant ! – Chris from Democratic Republic of the Congo – February 4, 2024 (7/10)
Chambre spacieuse et très propre
What could be improved: RASNICE LITTLE HOTEL – Jeremy from United Kingdom – October 22, 2023 (8/10)
Location is very convenient for getting a taxi, it's a bit of a walk to downtown, but it's doable. Staff very helpful considering i don't speak a word of French ,but thankfully some of the staff do. They have a nice garden for relaxing in. All in all a very nice hotel for the price. Would definitely consider staying there again if ever in Brazzaville.
What could be improved: Bed a bit too low, cleaners did a good job cleaning the room, but leaving the key in the door when they finish is something that i didn't like. I guess that's their policy.chambre vaste et un très agreable sejour – Herman from Congo – September 7, 2023 (8/10)
j'ai pas pris de petit déjeuner mais l'hôtel est très bien situé
Very Good – Moloi from Lesotho – July 21, 2023 (8/10)
The breakfast was not included in the original quotation and I had to pay it separately. I found the breakfast to be fair but expensive and it was unusual to pay for any addition to breakfast that you eat, meaning there is no standard rate for breakfast. The price depends on what you have included and eaten.
What could be improved: The food was quite expensive and the menu was limited. The hotel fees were also expensive as compared to Lesotho where I come from.
