I mean, Brazzaville can get pretty hectic, so having a bit of distance while still being accessible is honestly refreshing. The street itself is relatively calm, and you’ll find a few local spots within walking distance if you’re up for exploring.

The room I stayed in was… functional. Look, I’m not going to pretend it’s Instagram-worthy, but everything worked as it should. The bed was comfortable enough after long days of meetings, and the AC actually kept up with the Congo heat — which, trust me, is no small feat. The bathroom was clean, though nothing fancy, and I appreciated having a decent shower with consistent water pressure.

Practical Considerations

Here’s where Brazza Hôtel sort of shines in its own understated way. The staff genuinely tries to be helpful, even when language barriers pop up. Parking isn’t really an issue here, which anyone who’s driven around Brazzaville will appreciate. The wifi works most of the time — not blazing fast, but reliable enough for staying connected. There’s a small restaurant on-site that serves decent local dishes, nothing revolutionary but solid comfort food.

  Perfect city centre location, in easy walking distance of most places. Better priced than some competitor hotels nearby. Also, unlike other hotels, cleaning staff would only enter the room after check-out, not during the stay, which gave me peace of mind. Excellent shower cubicles – book your room to find out why!
  
  What could be improved: The pricing via booking.com is a little intransparent. We were four colleagues and all paid different prices for our rooms/night. I didn't think that made sense, but the staff said this was due to using booking.com. I don't know enough to judge what was going on. Some venues nearby play very loud music at night (though this isn't something the hotel could change). We were left confused whether the hotel offers breakfast or not. We ended up not having breakfast there, still unsure whether it is a possibility.

  Superb location near the centre of things, friendly and helpful staff and comfortable room with a/c that really works, hot shower and good wi-fi.
  
  What could be improved: More tv channels, like one or two not in French, would have been a nice extra bonus. Also more hangers in the closet, for clothes, and in the bathroom, for your toilet bag, would be brilliant but this is usually lacking in every hotel.
